The photo you've saved is a good starting point. What makes it work on you is your hair type, your face shape and how much time you'll honestly give it in the morning, and that's the conversation we have before we pick up the scissors.
We do everything from a tidy-up of your usual shape to a full restyle, sleek bobs, long layers, fringes and everything in between. Every cut starts with a chat about your hair and your routine, and finishes with a proper blow dry so you can see how it sits and how to style it yourself. If you just want a blow dry for a night out or an occasion, you can book that on its own too.
Cutting and finishing is a big part of every day at ELM in Wrexham. Emma, who owns the salon, opened ELM in 2015 and is our short hair specialist, so if you're thinking about a bob, a crop or a pixie, she's the one to ask for. Linda is our blow dry and finishing specialist. Everyone is welcome, whatever your age or hair length. If you're not sure what you want, book in and we'll work it out together in the chair.

How It Works
Consultation
We sit you down, look at your hair dry, talk about what you like and don't like about it, go through any photos you've saved and agree the shape before anything is cut. If you're going for a big change we'll be honest about what will suit you.
The cut
Wash and condition at the basin, then the cut itself, checked as your hair dries so it falls the way it will at home. A cut and finish is usually around an hour, a restyle a bit longer.
Finish and styling tips
A proper blow dry to finish, and we'll show you how to get the same look at home with what you've already got. We'll tell you roughly when to come back so the shape holds.

Every cut ends with a proper blow dry, and Linda, our finishing specialist, is here for blow drys and styling on their own too.

So having to put trust in a hair dresser is very hard for me, ive been suffering for years with my scalp and finding a hairdresser that can tackle this aswell as give me confidence with my hair over the years has been a struggle. I came to Emma with a big job at hand and not only did she make me feel comfortable she tackled the unthinkable. My skin test on my first appointment she was honest with me and said right let's tackle the cut and get a plan in motion with the scalp, 2nd appointment in and my scalp was completely clear omg years of suffering with psoriasis and I one session I felt a million dollars! Aswell as this she tackled a bodged haircut which made me feel uncomfortable to even have my hair styled. 3rd appointment she corrected a years worth of failed bleach and uneven tones aswell as overlapping that I couldn't see underneath, not only did I walk out with an even colour, but I walked out with a smile, she's been very honest on where to go moving forward and im so excited for my hair journey! Highly recommend Emma and her team so welcoming made me feel comfortable 😊 Emma is amazing and I can't thank her enough for the confidence I now feel. Best hairdressers in wrexham by far!

Yes. Every cut and finish ends with a proper blow dry so you can see how it sits and how to style it. If you'd like waves or extra volume rather than a smooth finish, just say.
For most people every 6 to 8 weeks keeps the shape and the ends healthy. Short cuts and fringes need doing more often, long hair can stretch to 10 or 12 weeks. We'll tell you what suits your cut when you're in.
No, we'll wash it here. If anything, come with it as you'd normally wear it so we can see how it falls before we start.
Yes. Blow drys are a proper appointment here, not an add-on. Linda is our blow dry and finishing specialist, and you can book smooth, waves or volume for a night out or an occasion.
